The Brief: Flaunt Digital was commissioned to create a microsite for Origins’ 72 Hour Challenge to showcase the product launch, allowing users to track and submit their workout progress which contributes towards planting trees. This project also involved creating a TV user interface (UI) for showing the live counter.

The Challenges: Flaunt Digital was required to build this project on a very tight deadline of just 2 weeks. Aside from this, one of the main challenges was the necessity for lots of moving autoplay high-resolution graphics, all in a single page. The site also needed to update in real time whilst standing up to high volumes of traffic focused at specific times.

What We Did: Flaunt Digital completed the microsite within the required deadline, building a fast-loading site hosted entirely through Amazon’s CDN (AWS Cloudfront using S3) in order to prioritise speed and uptime. The project included the creation of a custom API endpoint written in PHP and hosted on AWS EC2.

The physical event turnout was a huge success, with hundreds of visitors on the day and TVs installed all over a major park in New York City. In addition, the goal of planting 72,000 trees was reached with a full day to spare.
